NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESS SECTOR JOINED EFFORTS FOR DECREASING INFANT MORTALITY RATE WITHIN THE DYTYACHY SVIT FUND’S CHARITABLE CAMPAIGN

A six-day campaign Let’s Help the Children Together is completed in 4 regional centres of Ukraine.
The campaign was held by the Dytyachy Svit Charitable Fund and a number of non-profit organizations within the Healthy Children in a Happy Country all-Ukrainian charitable program. The funds raised during the campaign will be spent on purchasing the necessary medical equipment for intensive care departments of regional children’s hospitals.

The campaign was held on December 20-26 in “Silpo” supermarkets in Kyiv, Vinnytsya, Ternopil, and Cherkasy. During the campaign, the volunteers from different non-profit organizations raised funds at supermarket cash registers and assisted customers in wrapping goods in bags with logos of the charitable campaign on them.

The campaign was backed by the Student Council of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Vinnytsya regional non-profit organisation Foundation of Regional Initiatives, Stanytsya of Ternopil formation of the National Scout Organization of Ukraine, Cherkasy non-profit organizations Interact and Rotary Club. NADRA BANK and the “Silpo” supermarket chain were the partners of the campaign.

The Let’s Help the Children Together campaign was held within the two-year Healthy Children in a Happy Country social program implemented by the Dytyachy Svit Fund, which aims at decreasing the infant mortality rate in Ukraine by providing assistance in purchasing the necessary medical equipment to be used at the intensive care departments of 25 regional children’s hospitals. Charitable campaigns held by the Dytyachy Svit Fund in 2007 resulted in a total amount of almost 940,000 UAH. Sets of medical equipment have been already purchased and donated to the intensive care departments of Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kherson, Lviv, and Chernivtsi regional children’s clinical hospitals. The program is held under the aegis of the Ukrainian Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry for Family, Youth, and Sports.

The Dytyachy Svit Charitable Fund is grateful to every volunteer of the Let’s Help the Children Together campaign who made their own contribution to our common intention to save children’s lives.
